You can delete active or inactive employees manually or by using a remote task.
To delete an employee
1. Navigate to the Employee Administration tab.
2. Right-click the employee which you wish to delete and select Delete Employee(s).
This displays the Delete Employee message:
3. Click Yes to confirm.
This deletes the employee and displays the following message:
4. Click Ok.
The employee is deleted from the list.
To delete all inactive employees
1. Navigate to Admin Tools and select the Employee Administration node.
2. Select Terminated Employees filter in the Filter list.
This displays the inactive (terminated) employees as shown in the following screenshot:
The inactive employees are displayed in orange color.
3. In the Max Records list, select the maximum value, and then click the Search icon to display all records.
4. Click Select All to select all employees.
5. Right-click on any row and select Delete Employee(s).
This displays a confirmation message:
6. Click Yes.
This deletes the employees from the system and displays the following message:
After you delete the employee records, you must also delete the corresponding user records.
To delete inactive employees using the remote task
You can use this method to delete a large number of inactive employees.
1. Navigate to Admin Tools and select the Remote Tasks node.
This displays the remote tasks in the system:
2. Select the Housekeeping remote task.
3. On the Manage Tasks menu, click Edit Task.
This displays the following screen:
4. Select the Terminated Employees checkbox.
5. Select the Keep Terminated Managers with Active Direct Reports check box to retain employees who are managers and have active direct reports.
6. Select the Delete User records without any Employee records checkbox to delete these user records.
You need to select both options in the remote task to clean the terminated employee information.
6. Click Save and Close.
When the remote task next runs, it deletes the terminated employees.
