Once you have your job descriptions loaded into the JDXpert system, there are different ways that you can review and look at this data.
One of the ways to do this this to use the job matrix explorer.
When you open the Matrix, you will see it the three different ways to locate the job descriptions.
Across the top in the tabs. you will see the job families. Across the top of the grid are the subfamilies of the job family tab that you had selected.
And finally, down the left side, you will see the salary grade for each subfamily in the grid.
The salary grade on the left side can be configured to display something other than the salary grade, such as a department, division, business unit, etc., depending on your configuration. Moving to the grid, you will see all the job descriptions laid out according to the way the left side is configured. There are different colors and numbers associated with each job description.
If ou have loaded employees in the system, the red color will denote job descriptions that do not have any employees attached to them; if they are displayed in black, the job has incumbents and you will see the number of employees that hold this title in the parentheses displayed to the right.
There are two ways to select the job descriptions in the grid. The first way to do is to left-click on any job description, and that will be added to the list of selected jobs shown in the top-left corner.
You can add jobs in the selection even when switching to other job family tabs. The other option is to right-click the job description in a cell and click on Select Jobs in this Cell.
This will show all job descriptions in that particular cell and add them to selected jobs. Once you have selected all the jobs that you would like to view, click on the Selected Jobs button on the top-left corner to display a list of all job descriptions that you have selected.
You can view all these jobs side-by-side or you can uncheck some of the job descriptions that you don’t want to view and only select those job descriptions that you want to view side-by-side.
When you view the job descriptions side-by-side, you have the ability to highlight the differences and hide identical rows.
This makes it much easier to view and compare the job descriptions that you have selected. One thing to note here is that all the job descriptions you have selected will be shown in this list. And, if you have more than four selected, you might have to use the scroll bar at the bottom of the dialog box to view the rest of them. From here, you can also select Export as Excel to download an Excel report of your selections where you can do additional comparisons of the selected job titles.
Once you select Export as Excel, the dialog box you see below will display.
Click on Download File(s) to download the jobs in an Excel file.
Finally, working with the Matrix in JDX, you can open the selected jobs button and use the Action column next to each job description, to Preview, View, and see the employees that are assigned this job description.
