As an HRBP specialist, you will need to know how to edit job descriptions. All edits should be done via workflow. There are a few tools that you can use that might be helpful to you.
Here is a job description open in the workflow.
At the top-right corner of the screen, you will see four different options.
The first option is a Spell check, and this does is exactly what you think it does.
The second option is the Preview Pane. (or it may be called View Content). Here you will see a printed version of your job description. If you use the dropdown, you will see variations to the default version of your printed job description.
Attachments is where you can upload attachments relevant to this job description.
Bookmarks is where you can add a bookmark to other job descriptions.
Similar Jobs is where you can automatically find jobs based on their similarity score.
Archived Jobs will show you version history of your job descriptions. This is where these versions are stored and can be compared with other versions.
You can either select an archive version and compare it to the current version or you can compare two different archive versions.
Job Family which is where you can view the other job descriptions in this job family or subfamily.
A Level Guide, if this is enabled in your setup. It will show differentiations within a job description based on its career architecture.
The O*Net Occurrences tab gives you direct access to the O*net occurrences of this job description.
Finally, we have the Job Posting tab. This will show how your job description will look like on a job posting board. Some clients prefer using this version as their printed document.
The next option we have across the top is the Split Screen.
When you click on Split Screen, a dialog box will pop up.
You can select a second job to view next to the current job that you are editing. Use the text search or filter to find the job description that you would like to compare. Once you have selected your job, click on Select and Close.
This will show the second job on the right side of the job description that you are editing. As you click through the tabs on the left side, both jobs that you are editing along with the job that you are comparing will be shown for that section.
The last option across the top is the Form Errors. Clicking on this will show you a list of errors that need to be fixed before the job description is complete.
