You can optimize the job archives by removing the redundant archives.
Overview
Optimization removes the redundant job archives. The following process determines a redundant job archive:
List of comparable blocks
A list of building blocks is made for comparison. The following properties of blocks are considered:
- Are on a Visible tab page
- Is Comparable Element (is_comparable_element) property = true
- IsDataBound property = true
- Is visible to the current user
Excluded comparable blocks
Building blocks are excluded from the comparable blocks for the following data binding:
- CurrentApprover
- CurrentStepNum
- LastEditedBy
- LastEditedBy_Name
- LastEditedOn
- LastApprovedBy
- LastApprovedOn
- ReviewStatus
- HRAdminUser
- WFApprover_Step1
- WFApprover_Step2
- WFApprover_Step3
- WFApprover_Step4
- WFApprover_Step5
- WFParticipant_Step1
- WFParticipant_Step2
- WFParticipant_Step3

Comparing archives
If an archive record of a building block (of consecutive archives) contains no changes, then it is flagged as redundant and deleted through optimization.
To optimize the job archives (JDXpert version 2)
1. Navigate to the Job Management tab.
2. Use the search and filter options to find the desired jobs.
3. Select the job for which you wish to optimize the archives and click Archives.
This displays the archives of the job in the Manage Archives for Job screen.
4. Click More, and select Optimize.
This is a non-reversible action.
This displays the following message:
5. Click Yes.
This compares the various versions of job archives and deletes the duplicate archives (archives in which there are no changes).
This displays the following screen:
6. Click x to close the screen.
To optimize the job archives (JDXpert version 1)
1. Navigate to the Job Description Administration tab.
2. Use the search and filter options to find the desired jobs.
3. Select the job for which you wish to optimize the archives.
4. Right-click the selected job, point to Archive Functions, and select Optimize Archives (Remove Redundant Archives).
This displays the following message:
This deletes the redundant job archives (if any).
5. Click Ok.
