To use editable job posting within the template
You can configure the HTML box fields used for job postings to be temporarily editable without saving changes or permanently editable with saved changes. If you allow saving of edits, users can always revert to the original job posting data by clicking 'Update Job Posting,' which will discard any modifications.
To save changes, you must:
- Ensure the field has a binding, such as 'Position Description.'
- Set the binding input/output mode to GetAndSetDBValue (note that our alternate job posting block is typically set to GetDBValue by default).
- In the job template editor, navigate to advanced settings, and set the auto_update_job_posting to False.
When using the editable version, users can open the Fullscreen Editor window even when the Edit toggle is off, regardless of whether saving is enabled. This means a user might input data believing it will be saved, but those edits will not actually persist unless they first switch the job to Edit mode.
For example, even when the job is not in Edit mode, the Fullscreen Editor will appear and allow users to make edits (which will not be saved unless they switch to Edit mode).
If you enable saving of changes, the Job Posting field will not automatically populate with data from the job description. You must click 'Update Job Posting' to initially fill the job posting.
