You can mass update building blocks' security and visibility settings from an Excel file. This eliminates the need to modify individual configurations.
To export the configuration to an Excel file
1. Open the job template editor.
This displays the following screen:
2. Click All Blocks.
This displays the list of all blocks as shown:
3. Click Export.
This exports the complete grid to an Excel file.
4. Download and open the Excel file.
This file contains the settings for all blocks within the system. Columns Q and S list the user roles that have viewing and editing permissions for each block, respectively.
To import the configuration from an Excel file
You can update the security roles for the required blocks and import this file into the system.
1. On the Import menu, click Import Security Roles.
2. Click Yes.
This displays the following screen:
3. Click Upload.
4. Click Add.
Select the updated configuration Excel file.
5. Follow the steps in this wizard.
This displays the following screen:
6. Map the key columns in the dropdown lists as shown:
The View Mode Security and Edit Mode Security dropdowns are mapped to columns Q and S, respectively.
7. Click Import Building Block Security.
This displays the following message after completing the process:
8. Click Yes to view the results.
9. Click Download to download results to an Excel file.
10. Click Close Form.
11. Click Save and Close.
The updated settings are applied in the job template editor.
