You can configure and integrate JDXpert with Workday.
Configuring Workday
1. Navigate to the Admin Tools tab.
2. Click the System Settings node and select Workday Integration Settings.
This displays the following screen:

4. Enter the details in the following properties:
- Password – Password of the system
- URL – Workday weblink
- UserID – Username of the system
5. Click Save and Close.
To download reference IDs and validate the connection
You can download the reference IDs from Workday to validate the connection.
1. Open Admin Tools, and then select Workday Integration Administration.
2. Click Download Reference IDs.
This displays the following screen:
3. Select the reference IDs you want, and then click Download Reference IDs.
A "Completed downloading" message appears as shown:
This confirms that the Workday integration is successful.
EIB support
The Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) tool has a user-friendly interface for inbound and outbound integration without requiring any code. The EIB has an XML format and can be viewed and edited using Excel.
JDXpert can export and import EIB-format XML files. JDXpert provides a visual configuration tool to map data elements from JDXpert to the group/field structures in the EIB files. The following image displays the tool:
The group of fields in the EIB workbook is displayed in the tree structure in the left panel. These groups can be included or excluded from the import or export. The field-level settings allow complex expressions to convert data to JDXpert and vice versa. For example, you can transform a single-value field, such as job family, to the multi-value format in the EIB file.
The EIB definitions are also used to map data to the web services.
To download the EIB file
1. Navigate to the Job Management tab.

3. Click Export and select Export via API Transfer.
This displays the following screen:
You can deselect the jobs in the Select Job Description section (if required).
4. Click More Info. and then select View/Download EIB Workbook.
This displays the following screen:
5. Click Download as Excel Sheet.
6. Download this EIB file as an Excel sheet.
Job profile download
The Job Profile Download tool allows you to import Workday job profiles based on a date range. This tool displays the job profiles and matching job descriptions:

You can import the job profiles as shown:
If position management is used in Workday, the job profiles are downloaded as parent job descriptions in JDXpert. If position management is not used, then job profiles are downloaded as independent or parent jobs depending on the business requirements. Clients can define the data elements to be imported into JDXpert.
You can also export data from JDXpert to Workday job profiles or positions:
This tool also uses the EIB profiles to determine how to convert data from JDXpert to Workday structures. The export results are displayed, including any validation errors as shown:
These results are stored in the system as log files and can be viewed using the Workday log screen:
Batch operations
The import and export functions can be run in batch mode using JDXpert remote tasks:
The web services fetch data from Workday and save it in an Excel file. This file is then imported using a standard import profile. All data is stored for future reference.
Reference tables
Since most of the data in Workday is based on reference IDs, it is important to have matching choice lists in JDXpert. This ensures that data uploaded to Workday passes validation. There is an administration tool that allows you to re-synchronize the reference IDs and create or update system choices lists:
The names of the choice lists should match the names of the reference tables in Workday. In JDXpert, the names ending in ‘DO’ (for Display Only) should be used in the master template.
If the reference table has more than 100 records, the system automatically saves the values in an Excel file. This tool requires access to the ‘Get_References’ web service.
Reports-as-a-Service
- Workday Reports-as-a-Service (RaaS) can be used in JDXpert.
- RaaS support allows clients to export any data to JDXpert in a real-time environment.
- Client must provide the WSDL file for the report.
- Reports-as-a-Service is implemented using the job description import profile script code.
This is quoted separately as they require programming by the JDXpert team.
To use Create Position/Edit Position Restrictions Web Service
If a client wants to use Create Position or Edit Position Restrictions web service from Jdxpert to Workday, they should give access to the Business Process Security Policies as well as the Domain Securities.
