The PGP encrypted files are required while importing the job data or employee data into the system. You need to download the PGP-encrypted files from the FTP server, decrypt them, and upload using an imprort profile into the system.
Steps in this task
The standard steps in the PGP encrypted remote tasks are:
- Download file from FTP
- Decrypt the PGP file
- Convert the file format
- Import job data or employee data using a profile
- Save log file
- Email log file
The PGP key used for encrypting and decrypting the files should be the same.
To generate the PGP key
1. Click Generate PGP Keys on the Decrypt step.
This generates the private and public PGP keys as shown:
2. Copy the public key and send it to the client as a .txt file.
They need to use this key to encrypt the PGP file.
Do not share the private key with the client.
