You can configure and schedule remote tasks using various parameters.
To specify the task settings
1. Navigate to the Edit Remote Tasks screen.
2. Enter the task name in the Task Name box.
3. Enter the email address on which you wish to send the error report (if any error occurs in the task execution).
4. Click the Start task on list to select the task date.
This displays the Set Date Value dialog box.
5. Select the date and click Select and Close Form.
The date is populated in the box.
6. Set the time in the at box.
The server time is displayed as shown in the following figure:
The tasks are executed as per the server time and not the local time.
7. Select the following option:
- Run Once – To run the task once
- Repeat Task – To repeat the task after specified intervals
This displays the following tabbed screen:
This display contains days, months, days, hours, minutes tabs to select the time interval to repeat the tasks.

The time zone for the remote tasks is Eastern Standard Time (EST). For example, the task scheduled for 10:30 p.m. is executed at 10:30 p.m. EST.
The repetition interval is displayed as shown in the following figure:
8. Select the following checkboxes:
- Clear task log before each run – To clear the task log before executing the task each time
- Save log to a system file – To save the log file in the system file
9. Select the instances that you wish to save in the Number of log instances to keep list.
To specify the tasks
1. Click Add to add the new task.
This displays the following screen:
2. Enter the step name in the Step Name box:
3. Select the task in the Step Type list.
4. Select the following in the File destination section:
- Add file as task attachment – To import file as an attachment
- Add file as system blob – To import file as system blob file
5. Enter the remote path and file name in the Remote Path and File Name box:
6. Enter the FTP details as shown in the following figure:
7. Click Save.
This adds the task in the list as shown in the following figure:
8. Likewise, add other tasks to the list as shown:
The tasks added to the list are described in the following table:

9. Click Run On Error to ensure a log file is generated when there is an error earlier in the remote task.
10. Specify the output file name settings as shown:
10. Click Save and Close.
This saves the task and displays in the following screen:
To schedule the task
You need to turn on the schedule after setting up the remote task.
- Select the task and click Schedule Task.
The setup of the remote task is complete
