Back on the Home Page dashboard, let's look at the Import Dashboard, which looks a little different from V1 to V2 and is easier to use. The functionality, however, is still the same. To view the Import Dashboard, on the Advanced Tools menu, either click Import Dashboard, or if you have it saved in your Quick Links, you can click the Import Dashboard icon on the Quick Links section.
This displays the Import Dashboard tab where you can select the type of data to import under the Select Action drop down menu.
For each choice in the drop down, the default profile will be shown for each import action you select so that you receive some guidance on which import profile should be used. If you are looking to import using a different profile other than the default profile, you can select it from the Profile Name drop down below. If you're not sure which import profile is correct, select the import profile and then click on the View Profile Details so that you can see exactly how the fields are mapped.
The mapped fields need to correspond to the columns on your Excel import file. Once you select the import profile, you can either upload the file you wish to import or search the drop down if you previously uploaded your file and wish to import into JDX. After selecting your file, you can choose to preview the file before importing it or you can run the import.
To import jobs, choose import jobs under Select Action and then choose the Profile Name. Just like in V1, the field name within the import profile needs to map exactly to the column in the file you plan to import. You can confirm this mapping by looking at the import profile using the View Profile Details link. The last step is to upload a file or select a previously uploaded file from the drop down under the Upload or Select Excel File. If you choose to import employees, the profile name will be different as seen below. So, what you choose as your import type will determine the dynamic choices visible for the profile name. Under Upload or Select Excel File, you can choose a previously uploaded file, or you can upload your own Excel file and then run that import.
