Editing the Job Families – JDXpert

To edit job families, click on Admin Tools.

Then we need to select Job Families. Here you will see a list of job families and sub-functions that are included with the system.

Click on a job family and over to the right, you will see the sub-functions associated with that job family.

As you can see, this list is quite extensive. If you would like to add a job family to this list, click on Add, type in the name of your job family, and click Continue.

To edit or add your sub-functions, find the job family that you just added and click on Edit.

To add each sub-function, click on Add and type in the name that you would like to use. In this example, we will add Hardware Testing and Software Testing as sub-functions.

And you will see two sub-functions added. Click on Save and Close, and as you can see when we have Testing selected, you have two sub-functions called Hardware Testing and Software Testing.

Another way to edit the job families and add to them is to import a file. To do this, first you will need to export all the job families to Excel by clicking on Export and Export to Excel.

This will bring up a list of all the job families on the left side and the sub-functions on the right side.

Download this file as an Excel book and then open it up.

You will see the list of job families and sub-functions downloaded from the system. To add to this, all we need to do is scroll down to the bottom. We are going to add our job families and sub-functions here.

We’re going to name this import testing and we're going to copy this and paste it and we have this in here twice because we're going to add two sub-functions to this; Import Testing Hardware and Import Testing Software.

We need to make sure that we save our file and we need to close it if we're going to import it into the system. And to run the import, we need to click on import, import from Excel, upload, add, browse and select the file from your system.

Once you've done so, click on okay. It says it has detected a valid job family import file.

Click on import and it will run through and give you the important results.

We don't have to review this, but you can if you want; we will go ahead and click no and we will take a look at our import testing and you can see that we have import testing and import testing hardware and import testing software.
