JDX understands that in some cases determining essential functions is not as straightforward as collecting a percentage of time and the essential function.
We have provided alternative layouts for this and other building blocks. To select the alternative layouts, right click next to the Essential Functions on the Essential Functions tab and select Edit all Building Blocks. as shown in a previous article.
Once you have clicked on the Edit icon for essential functions, you will notice that there is a layout section.
To select a different layout simply drop down the list and then click the layout that you want to look at.
In this layout, you will notice that there is no percentage of the time.
In the Exempt/NonExempt layout, you will notice there is a percentage of time and you can capture whether the essential function is exempt or not.
In ObjectivesAndDuties, we are capturing the objective, the duty, and the percentage of time for these essential functions.
In PrincipleAccountabilities, we are capturing the accountability, the percentage of time, and whether or not it is essential.
If necessary and you are a Workday client, we also provide a Workday set of essential functions and whether they are required or preferred.
In the section, you will also notice that there is a select choice list.
You can drop down and select your choices and make edits for each alternative layout.
While configuring your tab pages, you may choose to select the essential functions with remote guidelines. If you do select this tab, you will want to hide the standard essential functions tab.
On the Essential Functions tab with remote guidelines, we have provided an option to select whether a function can be performed remotely and whether it is an essential function. In addition, if the remote work-capable box is checked, the remote work guidelines will appear. You will also be able to select the essential functions that you would like to appear for you remote work.
As mentioned earlier, alternative layouts are also available for other building blocks such as Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, and finally Licenses and Certifications on the Qualifications tab. Just edit the building block for each one to see what layout works best for you.
