Return to the Home Page to start a revision workflow for a job description.
To begin, double click on the Revised Job icon from your homepage.
This will bring you into the workflow screen. Click on the Add Job link to add a job or jobs you wish to revise.
If you're choosing more than one job description, please keep in mind that the reviewers must be the same for all jobs.
Here you may search for job descriptions by name or job code or by using one of the filters. For this purpose, we will select Accounting Specialist II. Click Select and Close.
Once we select the job(s) we wish to revise, we need to choose the workflow that we wish to use. JDX provides two workflows by default; the Best Practice Workflow which is a more structured workflow and a simpler Two-Step Workflow that goes from the Stakeholder to Compensation for finalization.
We will choose the Two-Step Workflow.
The first step will be to select a direct manager. Choose a direct manager by clicking on the link you see below.
And then enter the email address, and the first and last name of the manager you wish to use.
Since we don't have managers added in the system, we will use our ad hoc process that will allow you to enter an email address so they receive a link and can access the job description by email. Once the manager’s information is entered, you can add them as an ad-hoc reviewer by clicking on the add Ad-Hoc button.
Once you do that, click on Add Participant button.
Now the manager will be part of the workflow.
Next, you could do one or two things. If you want to add an additional stakeholder to work with Harry on this job description, you can add additional people by clicking on the + and following the same process.
Do keep in mind however that Harry would be designated as the approver and would be the person who would send this job forward to your compensation for finalization.
The next step is Compensation so you would go ahead and click on Select Compensation.
Since we have a compensation person already loaded in the system, you can select them directly by clicking on their row.
This will add her as an approver of the final step of the workflow.
Once these steps are completed, you can start the workflow for this job description by clicking on Start Workflow.
This step will generate an email that will go out to Harry. Once he receives the email, he can begin editing the job description.
