This article describes the high-level details of the user account registration, security, and account activation using a web link.
Overview
Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 is recommended for user authentication. If Single sign-on (SSO) is not supported or required, users can access the system through a web link and do the registration process.
User Registration
JDXpert supports user registration. If utilized, the system shall set a flag that enforces a user to register his account and define the security questions.
User must possess a valid email account.
Password Security
Password Length
The client can set the minimum character length of passwords (the default is eight characters).
Password Expiration
JDXpert does not support password expiration (that means, the account password never expires).
Password Complexity Rules
There are no restrictions on passwords or requirements for special characters.
Incorrect Password Attempts
The client can specify the number of incorrect password attempts allowed before the user is locked out. The default in JDXpert is 100 attempts. Some customers keep it between three and five attempts.
Forgotten Passwords
JDXpert has a password recovery feature that sends an email link to the employee. Users can click the link and answer the secret question to reset their password.
Password Reset by Administrator
An administrator can reset the password by selecting a check box in the User Record Administration screen. The user will receive an email instructing them to enter a new password.
