You can add, edit, rename, or delete sub-functions.
To view the Manage Job Families screen
- Navigate to the Admin Tools, and select Job Description Families.
This displays the Manage Job Families screen:
To view the sub-functions
- Click the Edit icon of the required job family.
This displays the following screen:
- Select the Sub-Functions tab.
The job, family, sub-functions, and number of associated job descriptions are displayed as shown:
To add a sub-function
- Click Add.
This displays the Add Sub-Family dialog box:
- Enter the sub-family name in the Add Sub-Family box.
- Click Save and Close.
This displays the new sub-function in the list:
- Enter the sub-function code.
If you are manually adding a Workday sub-function, ensure the sub-function code matches the one in Workday.
- Enter the Description details.
- Click Save and Close.
The new job sub-function is displayed as follows:
To rename a sub-function
- Click the Rename icon on the sub-function you wish to rename.
This displays the Rename dialog box.
- Update the name in the Enter New Sub-Family Name box.
- Click Continue.
This updates the sub-function name in the associated job descriptions and displays this message:
- Click OK.
The updated name is displayed as shown:
- Click Save and Close.
The job description is also updated in this screen:
To delete a sub-function
- Click More on the sub-function, and select Delete.
This displays the following message:
You cannot delete a sub-function that is linked to one or more jobs. Only unused sub-functions can be deleted.
- Click Ok.
- Select a sub-function that is not linked to any job, click More, and select Delete.
This displays the following message:
- Click Yes.
The sub-function is deleted from the list.
