You can get data classification issues while importing jobs from Workday. These issues can be resolved by reconfiguring the master template to display the imported data in individual fields.
To establish individual fields from raw data
1. Navigate to the Admin Tools tab.
2. Click the System Settings node, and select Workday Integration Settings.
This displays the following screen:
3. Click Edit EIB Profiles.
This displays the following screen:
4. Select a profile and click Edit Profile.
This displays the following screen:
5. Select the Show Import Options.
6. Select the Job Classification Data+ node in the left pane.
This displays the following screen:
To view the imported jobs from Workday
Let us consider a real-life example of converting raw imported Workday data using our master template.
1. Navigate to the Admin Tools tab.
2. Click the job description link as shown in the following figure:
This displays the list of imported jobs as shown in the following figure:
It is bulk data with an incorrect format and needs to classify it in individual fields using the master template.
To establish proper transformation of raw data in fields
1. Right-click a job that you wish to edit and select View Master Template for this Job Description.
This displays the master template of the job as shown:
2. Select the required tab page in the left pane.
This displays the following screen:
3. Click the Building Blocks (Fields) tab.
4. Select the building block and make adjustments in the overall width (if necessary).
5. Click the Preview tab.
This displays the raw data imported from Workday.
6. Click the Job Information tabbed page.
7. Click the Preview tab.
This displays the job classifications in the existing master template as shown.
Each field listed here has to be classified.
8. Click the Building Blocks (Fields) tab.
9. Select a building block that you wish to classify.
10. Click Choice List Sources.
You need to configure the choice lists.
This displays the following dialog box:
11. Click Edit Dynamic Choice List Expression.
This displays the following dialog box:
12. Update the tagged text as shown to extract the data from the selected field.
Enter the tagged text to extract only census code, job groups, etc from the raw imported data.
13. Click Save and Close to save the tagged text.
14. Likewise, select other building blocks, edit their choice list source, and update the tagged text.
15. Click Save and Close.
16. Click Save and Close.
To update the individual fields while importing and exporting data
1. Click the Job Information tab page.
2. Select the required building block in the Building Blocks (Fields) tab.
3. Click the Data Bindings tab.
This tagged text will extract values from the bullet lists downloaded from Workday.
4. Select the Job Summary tab page.
To remove the individual job classification field using the Import Job Description Data from Excel wizard
In this wizard, you have to create a blank column and extract values using a formula to delete the individual job classification fields.
For detailed information on this import wizard, refer to the article, " Understanding the Import Wizard".
1. Navigate to the Job Management tab.
2. Click Import, and select the Import Job Data from Excel.
This displays the Import primary Job Description fields from Excel wizard:
3. Click Next.
This displays the next page of the wizard:
4. Click Upload Workbook.
This displays the following dialog box:
5 Click Add.
6. Click Choose File.
7. Select the file which you wish to upload.
8. Click OK.
This starts the uploading of the file.
This populates the details in the the following screen:
9. Click Next.
10. Click Next.
10. Click Formulas.
You have to add a formula in this wizard to delete the individual job classification fields.
This displays the following screen:
11. Click Add Manually.
This displays the following dialog box:
12. Select DC in the Excel Formula Column list.
This creates a dummy column in the table.
13. Click Select and Close Form.
14. Delete the formula field to make it blank.
15. Click Apply.
This displays the following screen:
16. Click Save and Close.
This adds the column in the wizard as shown:
17. Select the newly added column and click More.
This displays the Select Field screen.
18. Use the search and filter options to find the desired field (Job Group in this example).
19. Select the field and click Select and Close.
This adds the field as shown:
20. Clear the Skip If Blank Value check box.
This field is set to blank, to populate the value in the default target text as shown in the following figure:
This process you need to follow for all job classification items.
21. Click x to close the wizard.
